Rappnet is a self-moderated Email ListServe in Rappahannock County Va. Discussion is freewheeling and encompasses all subjects. Courtesy and good manners are highly valued, and if a member posts an objectionable email, they can expect the polite wrath of other members. We pride the Rappnet community for it's neighborliness, intelligence, and traditional rural character. Posting unintentional misinformation i.e. email rumors, false virus reports, and other items you may receive from the internet will bring a quick correction from other Rappnet members, so it's advisable to check your information before posting it. We are a very active email list and Rappnet can deliver 40-60+ posts on busy days. If this is too much for your inbox sanity try the Digest version which condenses posts into one or two emails per day. Please Note: When you first subscribe, you will be sent a confirmation letter that you must reply to to activate your account. This often goes to users "Spam" or "Junk Mail" folders, so be sure to check there. New requests are acted on within a few hours. Welcome to Rappnet! Using Rappnet
To post a message to all the list members, send email to rappnet@list.rappnet.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Rappnet
Subscribe to Rappnet by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name:   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
